Omar Vera Muñiz is an attorney and international consultant specializing in Civil and Constitutional Law. Mr. Vera Muñiz graduated from the Law School of Universidad de Lima, Peru, where he was awarded Summa Cum Laude for his thesis: The Crisis and the End of the Welfare State. Mr. Vera Muñiz moved to United States to pursue a Master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Central Florida (UCF). He earned his M.A. in Political Science International Studies, from the UCF with the thesis: Elements of Azeri’s Independent Foreign Policy: Energy, Geography, and Global Powers Rivalry, specializing in International Relations and Geopolitics.
As a graduate student, he has participated in different international conferences, presenting his research work on the geopolitics of the South Caucasus region. Mr. Vera Muñiz has also worked as a research assistant for Dr. Houman A. Sadri at UCF, developing several research projects regarding the international relations between the South Caucasus states (Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia) and the regional and global powers (Iran, Turkey, Russia and the U.S.). Dr. Sadri and Mr. Vera Muñiz coauthored a book chapter: “Iran and the Caucasus States” in Iran and The World: Foreign Policy Foundations, Thomas Juneau & Sam Razavi, eds., New York, NY: Routledge.
Mr. Vera Muñiz’s areas of interests are International Relations, Geopolitics, Conflict Resolution, and International Law. He is currently working on the political, economic, and military connotations in the relationship of the landlocked states of Azerbaijan and Bolivia with their neighbors’ states.
